The Kia Seltos has earned a 5-star safety rating for both child and adult protection in the Bharat NCAP crash tests. The Seltos joins other Hyundai-Kia models in the 5-star rating club, alongside the Kia Syros and the Hyundai Venue.
Adult occupant safety - 31.70/32
The Seltos scored a near-perfect 31.70 out of 32 for adult protection. In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, it scored 15.70/16, providing good protection to the head and pelvis regions of both the driver and the passenger, and adequate protection to the feet of the driver. In the side-movable, deformable barrier test, it scored a perfect 16/16, with good protection for the head, chest, abdomen, and pelvis regions of the occupants. It also gets an ‘ok’ clearance for the side pole impact test.
Child occupant safety - 45/49
In the child occupant safety test, the Seltos scores a respectable 45 out of 49. The tests were conducted with two dummies, an 18-month-old child and a 3-year-old child, mounted on child seats. The 18-month-old dummy scored 8/8 in the Frontal Impact Test, while the 3-year-old dummy scored a full 8/8; both dummies scored full points in the side impact tests. The Seltos scored 12/12 in the CRS (Child Restraint System) and 9/13 in the Vehicle assessment score.

The Seltos comes equipped with 6 airbags, ABS, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), side head protection system (curtain airbags), four wheel disc brakes, seat belt reminders and ISOFIX anchor points for child seats as standard across all the variants. Higher versions get level 2 ADAS tech with adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist.
