JLR India has posted its best-ever sales performance, retailing 6,183 units in FY25 — a 40% year-on-year growth. Wholesale volumes stood at 6,266 units, up 39%.
Q4 FY25 was particularly strong with 1,793 retail units, up 110%, and 1,710 wholesale units, up 118% year-on-year — marking the best quarterly result in the brand’s 17-year India run.
What Drove the Surge?
-
Defender sales rose 90%, making it JLR’s top seller.
-
Locally assembled Range Rover and Range Rover Sport grew by 72% and 42% respectively.
-
Local manufacturing helped reduce wait times and costs.
Experience Sells
JLR’s focus on ownership experience is showing results — from Defender Journeys (45 drives, 500+ clients) to nationwide service clinics and a 5-year maintenance plan taken up by 20–25% of buyers.
Limited Editions and Local Wins
The Defender OCTA and Range Rover SV Ranthambore Edition (India-exclusive) both sold out rapidly, reinforcing demand for bespoke offerings. Local assembly of the flagship Range Rover line has also widened appeal.
Outlook
With strong Q4 momentum and an expanded network in 21 cities, JLR India enters FY26 with confidence. Electrification and premium customer programmes remain key pillars under the company’s global Reimagine strategy.
