Jeep India has launched the Compass Sport 9AT in India at an introductory entry point of ₹21.99 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the most affordable automatic version of the SUV in the country. The new variant brings a 9-speed automatic transmission to the entry-level Sport trim, with customer deliveries scheduled to begin in the second week of November 2026.
Engine and Performance
The Jeep Compass Sport 9AT is powered by the familiar 2.0-litre MultiJet II turbo-diesel engine, producing 170hp and 350Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and sends power to the front wheels.
Features and Safety
In terms of features, the Compass Sport 9AT gets six airbags, Auto Hold and cruise control. It also features a 8.4 inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted controls and electrically adjustable ORVMs.
The SUV retains Jeep’s Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) suspension and Dynamic Steering Torque (DST) technology, aimed at delivering a composed ride and responsive handling across different road conditions.
Customers can also opt for an accessory pack priced at ₹29,900. This includes ambient lighting, a dashcam with predictive safety features, a Swoosh decal, all-weather floor mats and mud flaps.
With the introduction of the Sport 9AT, Jeep India aims to make the Compass's automatic transmission option more accessible to buyers. The wider Compass range continues to offer manual and automatic transmission options, along with 2WD and 4WD configurations.
