BMW has brought back its flagship coupe SUV, the X6 M60i, to Indian shores via the CBU route, priced at ₹1.77 crore (ex-showroom). It is available in its most powerful M60i xDrive guise. It is powered by a 4.4-litre V8. Here is everything you need to know about the BMW X6 M60i xDrive.
Exterior
The BMW X6 M60i xDrive retains that unmistakable coupe-SUV design language, with long, swooping lines and a dynamically stretched silhouette. It features a muscular front look with BMW’s signature kidney-shaped grille finished in matte black colour. Upfront, it gets adaptive LED lights with arrow-shaped DRLs, and it gets L-shaped light and brake light bar at the rear. The BMW X6 M60i xDrive is fitted with the M Sport package Pro as standard, which also includes an M Sport braking system with red brake callipers, a quad-pipe M Sport exhaust system and 21-inch wheels. The BMW X6 M60i is available in six colours: Aventurine Red, Manhattan Metallic, Brooklyn Grey, Black Sapphire, Mineral White, and Isle of Man Green.
Interior and Features
On the inside, the BMW X6 M60i Xdrive gets a 12.3-inch driver’s display and a 14.9-inch infotainment screen, which are located behind a single glass surface. The interior follows BMW’s signature theme seen on most of its cars. It comes with ventilated, electronically adjustable front seats, while the massage function for the front seats is available as an option. It gets a 464-watt Harman-Kardon 16-speaker setup. It also gets soft-close doors as standard. Other optional features include the ‘Crafted Clarity’ glass iDrive controller and gear knob, and Anthracite headliner.
Engine and Gearbox
The BMW X6 M60i xDrive is powered by a 4.4-litre V8 engine, which produces 526bhp and 750Nm of torque. It is assisted by a 48V battery, which improves performance and efficiency. The BMW X6 M60i xDrive does a 0 to 100 run in just 4.3 seconds and has a top speed of 250kmph. The engine is paired with an eight-speed Steptronic Sports transmission, which sends power to all four wheels. It also features Integral Active Steering, with rear-wheel steering of up to 3 degrees. It comes with M Sport differential, Adaptive M suspension, and M Sport brakes as standard.
Rivals and Market Positioning
The BMW X6 M60i xDrive competes with the Porsche Cayenne Coupe, Audi SQ8, and Mercedes-Benz GLE 53 Coupe. The BMW X6 M60i and Audi SQ8 are the only cars in this segment to come with a big-fat V8. But the BMW X6 M60i turns out to be the most powerful car in its segment.
