BMW India has introduced the updated M340i, priced at Rs 74.9 lakh (ex-showroom). This refreshed model, now available for booking on BMW’s website and at dealerships, features subtle interior, exterior, and suspension upgrades, adding to its appeal as a premium sports sedan.
Under the hood, the M340i retains its 3.0-litre, six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, generating 374hp and 500Nm of torque. It pairs with a 48V mild-hybrid system and an eight-speed automatic transmission, accelerating from 0-100 kmph in just 4.4 seconds. The sedan now comes with standard adaptive suspension, ensuring a smoother and more dynamic driving experience.
BMW has enhanced the luxury quotient inside the cabin by introducing Vernasca leather upholstery with signature M stitching. The car boasts a cutting-edge Widescreen Curved Display, combining a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Running on BMW’s latest iDrive 8.5 operating system, the interface promises improved usability. Additional updates include redesigned AC vents with updated knobs for easier control and a three-zone climate control system for optimal comfort.
The M340i now offers an expanded range of five exterior paint options, including two new shades, Arctic Race Blue and Fire Red, alongside existing options Dravit Grey, Black Sapphire, and Tanzanite Blue. This diverse palette allows buyers to personalise their vehicles further.
The updated M340i comes at a premium of ₹2 lakh over its predecessor, priced at ₹72.9 lakh. Despite the price hike, BMW claims the sedan remains the fastest ICE car built in India. Competing in the segment, it takes on the Mercedes-AMG C 43 (₹98.25 lakh) and the Audi S5 Sportback, priced between ₹77.32 lakh and ₹83.6 lakh.
To enhance exclusivity, BMW offers a variety of M Performance accessories, enabling customers to tailor the M340i to their preferences with options ranging from sporty trims to bespoke detailing.
