Audi Adds Over 5,500 New EV Charging Points in India

Audi India has plugged in a meaningful update to its EV infrastructure plans. Under Phase-II of the Charge My Audi initiative, the brand has added 5,500+ charging points across the country, taking the total tally to over 6,500.

It’s part of Audi’s push to make luxury EV ownership slightly less reliant on hope, maps, and frantic WhatsApp calls about backup chargers.

Key Highlights:

  • 5,500+ new charging points added across India

  • 16 new EV charging partners onboarded

  • Total coverage: 6,500+ chargers across 28 states/UTs, 850+ cities, and 4,700+ locations

  • Over 75% of the network now offers DC fast charging

  • Free charging for e-tron owners extended till 31 December 2025

The brand’s growing list of partners now includes:

  • Shell India

  • Adani Total Energies

  • Statiq

  • Charge Zone

  • Relux Electric

  • Lion Charge

  • chargeMOD

  • Xobolt

  • Gentari

  • Eco Plug

  • Kurrent Charge

  • E-Fill

  • Electric Fuel

  • iONCHARGE

  • Tecell

  • Yo Charge

What It Means for Owners

Most of the newly added stations sit in strategic locations—think highways, business hubs, and metro zones. The idea is to allow Audi e-tron owners to:

  • Plan long road trips without sweating over battery levels

  • Rely on real-time charger availability

  • Use in-app navigation and route planning

  • Start and stop sessions via the myAudi Connect app

The complimentary charging offer, which now runs through the end of 2025, is a decent sweetener. Especially since the e-tron lineup starts around ₹1.02 crore (ex-showroom).

Background and Future

The Charge My Audi initiative originally launched with features like:

  • Route mapping with charger integration

  • Destination charging hubs

  • Live availability of chargers through public networks

It’s all powered by Numocity’s eMSP platform, which stitches everything together behind the scenes.

The move also follows a rather busy 2024 for Audi India:

  • Crossed 100,000 cars on Indian roads

  • Ran a high-profile campaign dubbed ‘100 Days of Celebration’

While the hardware—vehicles like the e-tron GT with 530 bhp and 640 Nm—is already on point, this infrastructure push is more about making the experience live up to the price tag. Because when you’re paying ₹1 crore, you shouldn’t also be asking strangers at dhabas if you can borrow a plug.
