The adventure motorcycle market in India has witnessed substantial growth over the past few years. This surge in popularity is due to the challenging road conditions across the country or the growing trend of long-distance motorcycle touring. Riders are increasingly setting out on epic journeys to destinations like Spiti Valley, Ladakh, and the iconic Khardung-La Pass.
With adventure touring becoming a lifestyle for many, here’s a look at the top 9 adventure motorcycles expected to hit Indian roads in 2025:
The KTM 390 Adventure Line-up:
The long-awaited KTM 390 Adventure series of bikes is expected to launch by the end of January 2025. The bikes will be powered by the same 399cc engine found in the latest generation of 390 Duke. This lineup will include KTM 390 Adventure X, KTM 390 Adventure S and KTM 390 Enduro R.
TVS RTX 300
TVS might be late to the adventure bike party, but the wait could be well worth it. The company has developed a brand-new engine specifically for its adventure bike. Known for some of the best-designed bikes in the country, TVS seems set to impress once again—if the spy shots are anything to go by. Let’s just hope the engine is smooth and vibration-free!
BMW F 450 GS
BMW is renowned for crafting some of the world’s finest off-road motorcycles, and the prospect of a 450cc twin-cylinder adventure bike for the masses is highly exciting. Such a bike would likely feature advanced technology, exceptional build quality, and signature BMW performance. While it may carry a premium price and maintenance cost, it would undoubtedly deliver a thrilling and versatile riding experience, perfect for adventure enthusiasts.
Hero XPulse 210
Hero revealed the XPulse 210 at EICMA last year. The bike will be based on the Karizma XMR 210’s engine, which makes 25 bhp, whereas the XPulse 210’s will make 24.3 bhp. Both engines have a peak torque of 20.7 Nm. In this new avatar, the XPulse will be more capable of handling challenging terrains.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 750
Royal Enfield has a huge line-up of bikes coming out in 2025, one of them being a bigger version of their widely successful Himalayan 450. Known for making highly competitive bikes at an affordable price point, we expect the Himalayan to be a big success story. The bike will compete with the KTM 390 Adventure line-up; only time will tell which brand comes out on top.
Ducati Multistrada V2
The upcoming Ducati Multistrada V2 is set to redefine the adventure touring segment. It is designed to deliver the perfect blend of performance, comfort, and versatility; it features a 937cc Testastretta 11° engine, offering refined power for long highway stretches and off-road adventures. Lighter and more ergonomic than its predecessor, the V2 promises enhanced handling with its updated chassis and reduced weight. The updated bike offers lower seat height and an improved electronics package. Ducati’s signature design language shines through, making the Multistrada V2 a standout in the adventure bike segment.
Yamaha Tenere 700
2025 is shaping up to be a landmark year for Yamaha as the brand gears up to launch an exciting range of motorcycles in the Indian market. The Tenere 700 is powered by a 689cc parallel twin engine, producing 72.4 bhp and 69 Nm of torque. The motorcycle is a proper off-roader ready to take up any challenge thrown at it. The bike will compete with the BMW F 900 GS and Triumph Tiger 900.
Aprilia Tuareg 457
Aprilia’s 457cc parallel-twin engine is a proven beast, equipped with lots of torque throughout the rev range, making this a perfect engine for an adventure motorcycle. Aprilia Tuareg is a powerful nameplate, and we don’t expect the Italian manufacturer to hold back when it comes to their smallest adventure motorcycle. The motorcycle will give tough competition to the Himalayan 750, the KTM 390 Adventure range of motorcycles and the Honda NX500.
Ola Adventure
Ola faced significant challenges in 2025, particularly with after-sales service, which has been a major pain point for its customers. However, the company has a few launches slated for 2025, one being the Ola Adventure, but an adventure electric bike? The idea sounds absurd, but Ola is offering us one, and we are excited to see how it performs. The instant rush of power that EVs prove can be a boon in off-road environments, helping you out in tricky situations. EVs are heavy, and battery packs are heavy, so how will Ola manage to make a nimble bike which inspires confidence? We have many questions, and we hope we get these answers soon.
As adventure touring continues to capture the imagination of riders across India, motorcycle manufacturers are stepping up to meet the demand with innovative, feature-packed machines. The year 2025 promises to be thrilling for enthusiasts, with a diverse lineup of adventure bikes catering to every type of rider. Whether it’s conquering rugged terrains or embarking on cross-country journeys, these upcoming models are set to redefine the adventure motorcycling experience in India.
