Simple Energy Ultra launched in India at ₹2.34 lakh

Simple Energy has launched its latest flagship scooter, the Simple Energy Ultra. It’s based on Simple’s second-generation platform and is launched at ₹2.34 lakh, ex-showroom. It’s built with long-range commutes in mind and is the company’s fourth offering in India’s highly competitive electric scooter segment.

The headline feature of the Simple Ultra is its 6.5kWh battery with an insane IDC range of 400km on a single charge. This makes it the longest-range electric scooter currently on sale in India. It gets a top speed of 115kmph and can sprint from 0 to 40kmph in just 2.77 seconds, making it India’s second-fastest electric scooter after the Simple Energy One 5kWh variant.

The Simple Ultra also gets similar suspension hardware, brakes, and overall design as the Simple One Gen 2, and gets a similar seven-inch colour TFT display with smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and four levels of traction control.

Commenting on its launch, Mr Suhas Rajkumar, founder and CEO of Simple Energy, explained how the Ultra has been designed for those who demand “extreme range and performance” without any compromises and how it sets a new benchmark for electric two-wheelers in India. He also emphasised how they are delivering an “anxiety-free” electric mobility at scale across an “ever-expanding” network pan-India.

The Simple Ultra is now open for bookings and deliveries, and you can buy yours at 70 dealers across India, with an ever-growing network across cities like Bengaluru, Delhi, Patna, Bhopal, Agra, Goa, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Kochi, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, and Chennai. Simple Energy is also looking to expand in cities like Nagpur, Ranchi, and Bhubaneshwar.

With the launch of the Ultra model, the Simple Electric’s range has grown to 4 models: Simple One, Simple One Gen-2, and Simple One S Gen 2. With the Simple One Gen 2 coming in two variants with an IDC range of 236km and 265km, with a starting price of ₹1.94 lakh, ex-showroom Bangalore, and the Simple One S coming with an IDC range of 190km with an ex-showroom price of ₹1.74 lakh, ex-showroom Bangalore.
