River Mobility Crosses 100 Showrooms in India, Targets 200 by March 2027

River Mobility is stepping up its retail expansion in India, crossing the 100-showroom milestone within three years of operations. The Bengaluru-based electric scooter manufacturer opened 10 new showrooms in a single day, extending its presence across five states and bringing its flagship Indie electric scooter to more customers.

The latest outlets span Lucknow and Agra in Uttar Pradesh, Udaipur and Ajmer in Rajasthan, Chennai and Puducherry in Tamil Nadu, Navi Mumbai and Pune in Maharashtra, and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. With these additions, River's retail network now covers 65 cities across 12 states in India.

The company has set its sights on reaching 150 stores by the end of 2026, followed by more than 200 outlets nationwide by March 2027. Its expansion plans are backed by a USD 120 million Series C funding round, with investments going towards strengthening both retail and after-sales support.

"Our expansion strategy has always been guided by the customer," said Aravind Mani, Co-founder and CEO of River Mobility. He added that the company has strengthened its ecosystem to scale its retail network at twice the pace while maintaining its focus on customer service and the ownership experience.

River's retail expansion also extends beyond India. The company recently entered Kathmandu, Nepal, marking its first step towards building an international retail network.
At the centre of this push is the River Indie, which the company describes as the 'SUV of scooters'. Designed to combine the practicality and versatility associated with SUVs with the agility of a scooter, the Indie is aimed at everyday urban commuters. River showrooms offer test rides, bookings, accessories and merchandise, alongside service support.

Founded in March 2021, River Mobility has positioned the Indie around utility-focused design and everyday usability. With its retail network growing at a steady pace, the company is looking to make the scooter more accessible to buyers across India while building the service infrastructure needed to support a larger customer base.
The Indie is available for test rides and bookings at River showrooms and through the company's official website.
