Design and Chassis
The Keeway Hypersport-R gets angular and sculpted body panels which add to its typical e-scooter design language. Upfront it gets dual projector LED headlamps and water flowing LED light strip which doubles as sequential turn indicators. It gets an LED taillamp with inverted u shape design and the rear parking camera is placed right below the taillamp. The Keeway Hypervolt-R is underpinned by a cage frame made with high carbon steel. This scooter weighs 140kg. The Keeway Hypervolt-R gets 24-litre underseat storage and a 4.6-litre glovebox upfront. The Keeway Hypervolt-R gets 14-inch wheels both at the front and the back. Upfront it gets telescopic suspension and it gets a five-way adjustable hydraulic suspension at the rear.
Battery and Motor
Powering the Keeway Hypervolt-R is a 5.04kWh dual architecture battery pack. Keeway claims an IDC range of 180km on a full charge. Keeway is offering two charger options: either a 840W slow charger or a 1680W fast charger which can charge the battery from 0 to 80 per cent in just 3 hours. It gets a mid-mounted PMSM motor which produces 12kW of peak power and 72Nm of torque. The Keeway Hypervolt-R does 0-40 run in a claimed 2.3 seconds and has a claimed top speed of 115kmph.
Features and Rider-Aids
In terms of features and rider-aids, The Keeway Hypervolt-R gets a five-inch colour TFT display with bluetooth connectivity. It gets three riding modes - Eco, Normal and Sport. The Keeway Hypersport-R gets ADAS tech, rear parking camera, blind spot detection, intelligent cruise control, dual channel ABS, traction control, hill hold, hill descent control, type A and type C charging ports
Price and Market Positioning
The Keeway Hypervolt-R rivals with the likes of Ather 450 Apex, Yamaha EC-06, Suzuki e-Access and Simple One. The Keeway Hypervolt-R is priced at ₹1.99 lakh (introductory ex-showroom) which places it at the higher end of the spectrum but for that extra price it offers features which India has never seen before in an EV scooter.
