Hero MotoCorp has long been known for its small and affordable motorcycle range, but we have seen Hero reimaging itself in recent years. We are now seeing Hero working on powerful adventure bikes, a 440cc engine joint venture with Harley-Davidson, and now, a 250cc engine powerhouse.
Hero was recently spotted filming a television commercial for its upcoming Hero Xtreme 250R, which was officially revealed at EICMA 2024. We think the bike will launch on 19th January at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 in Delhi. The bike will compete directly with the likes of the Pulsar N250, KTM 250 Duke and Suzuki Gixxer 250. At the Bharat Mobility expo, we also expect to see the Xpulse 210.
Design Highlights
As per the spy images, the bike looks impressive with its bold design language and muscular looks. The 43mm golden upside-down forks, hefty fuel tank and the red colourway demands attention. The Xtreme 250 is expected to have a more committed and performance-focused riding position.
Hardware and Features
As the name suggests, the bike comes with a 250cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine with a 4-valve system. The bike generates 29.5 bhp and 25 Nm of torque. The Xtreme 250 is built on a trellis frame and comes equipped with a 6-step adjustable monoshock at the rear for better handling and comfort. It comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, chunky tyres, front and rear disc breaks with switchable ABS functionality. The Xtreme 250 will come equipped with an all-digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, a lap and drag timer. The bike also comes with LED lighting and LED DRLs.
Conclusion
We are expecting some big announcements at the Bharat Mobility Exop from Hero MotoCorp, and we are confident that Hero will launch the Xtreme 250R. The other bike might be the Karizma XMR 250, a feature-packed fully faired Hero motorcycle, a nameplate that has historically promised a comfortable sports tourer. It is exciting to see Hero catering to the adrenaline-loving generation with their exciting offerings. We expect both bikes to cost around Rs 2 lakh, making the 250cc segment cut through more than ever.
