Ducati XDiavel V4 launched in India at ₹30.89 lakh | All you need to know about it

Italian automaker Ducati has launched its sports cruiser motorcycle, the XDiavel V4 in India and it features a 1158cc V4 engine with counter-rotating crankshaft and cylinder deactivation. The Ducati XDiavel is a sleeker and comfier avatar of the standard Diavel and it is offered in two different colour options — Burning Red and Black Lava.

Engine and Gearbox

The Ducati XDiavel V4 features a 1158cc V4 engine which produces 166bhp at 10,750 rpm and 122Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with a bi-directional quickshifter as standard. The engine also features an advanced rear-cylinder deactivation system and counter-rotating crankshaft to reduce emissions and enhance efficiency.

Chassis, Suspension and Brakes

The Ducati XDiavel features an Aluminium monocoque frame. It gets 50mm upside-down forks upfront, which handle compression and rebound damping, which can be adjusted according to the rider’s preference. It gets a fully adjustable monoshock suspension at the rear. The Ducati XDiavel V4 gets two 330mm semi-floating discs upfront with radially mounted Brembo Stylema brake callipers. It gets a 265mm single disc with radially mounted Brembo brake calliper at the rear. The Ducati XDiavel V4 weighs 229kg kerb.

Features and Rider aids​

The Ducati XDiavel V4 is loaded to the brim with features like a 6.9-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. It gets ride-by-wire technology, which enables riding modes. Other features include cornering ABS, Ducati traction control, and Ducati wheelie control. The standard features are as follows: Ducati quickshift, Ducati power launch and cruise control.

Customisation

​Ducati offers two customisation options with the XDiavel: power boast and open road. The power boast is for those who are looking for a sporty riding experience without compromising on comfort. This pack adds a Titanium Akrapovic racing exhaust and carbon fibre covers for the headlights, exhaust and mudguards. It also gets aluminium rear-view mirrors, brake and clutch reservoir caps by Rizoma.

The second customisation pack is the open road package, which is for riders who want to enjoy the XDiavel on long road trips. The rider and pillion seats get better cushioning. It also gets a backrest and grab handles for the pillion. Additionally, this package adds two panniers (24ltr+24ltr) and a tyre pressure monitoring system, which makes the XDiavel a touring-friendly package.

​Pricing and Rivals

The Ducati XDiavel V4 is priced at ₹30.89 lakh (ex-showroom) and it will rival the likes of Triumph Rocket 3 Storm, BMW R 18 Transcontinental, Harley Davidson Fat Boy, and Indian Chief.
