Aprilia has unveiled a special, limited-edition version of the RS 660 to celebrate its racing heritage at Phillip Island, Australia. Called the Aprilia RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute, the motorcycle gets exclusive styling inspired by the iconic circuit, while retaining the standard model’s mechanical package and electronics.
The special edition commemorates Aprilia Racing’s association with Phillip Island, a circuit that has played a significant role in the brand’s motorsport history. Aprilia has secured 10 victories across various classes of the MotoGP World Championship at the Australian track. Its 2025 MotoGP victory at Phillip Island, secured by Raúl Fernández on the RS-GP, also helped the manufacturer reach the milestone of 300 World Motorcycle Championship wins.
The tribute edition arrives as Phillip Island prepares to leave the MotoGP calendar from 2027, ending a run of almost 30 seasons on the championship schedule.
What’s Different?
The most significant changes are visual. The RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute features a white base colour complemented by green accents on the side panels and tail section, along with red wheel rims. The colour scheme takes inspiration from the circuit’s identity.
The side panels feature the Phillip Island Circuit logo, incorporating the layout of the track, alongside the circuit’s name and a chequered flag graphic. The fuel tank carries a badge commemorating Aprilia’s victories at the venue, while the motorcycle’s individual serial number is displayed on the steering-head plate. A passenger seat cover is also included as standard.
The motorcycle will be showcased at EICMA in Milan from 5 to 8 November.
Engine and Features
Mechanically, the special edition remains unchanged. It is powered by the familiar 660cc, twin-cylinder engine producing 105hp at 10,400rpm and 70Nm of torque at 8,400rpm. A 35kW restricted version is also available.
The motorcycle retains Aprilia’s aPRC electronics package, which includes adjustable traction control, wheelie control, engine braking control, cornering ABS and engine maps managed through its ride-by-wire throttle system.
Additional features include launch control, a bidirectional quickshifter and cruise control. A six-axis inertial measurement platform helps the electronic rider aids respond to changing riding conditions.
India Launch
Aprilia has not announced the price, production numbers or market availability of the RS 660 Phillip Island Tribute. There is also no confirmation of an India launch at the time of writing.
The special edition is primarily a styling tribute to a circuit that has been closely associated with Aprilia’s racing achievements. With no mechanical changes over the standard RS 660, its appeal will largely depend on its exclusivity and the significance of its Phillip Island connection for collectors and racing enthusiasts.
